Tips to Follow While Cleaning Venetian Blinds

Cleaning Venetian blinds is often a difficult task for most people. This is because Venetian blinds come in a wide range of versions including the ones made from plastic and wood. Deep cleaning method is not suitable for wooden shades. Before you start cleaning window blinds, make it a point to wipe all grease and stains sticking to them with the help of a window spray cleaner. Once these unwanted spots have been removed, you will have to dry the area using paper towels. Also tie the curtains around the shades. Before starting the cleaning process, put the blinds in a shut position.
Put on a soft cotton or dust attracting glove to clean the dust and grime sticking to the shades. Cloth dryer sheets could be a suitable alternative as they help to reduce static electricity. Run your fingers lightly over the slats of the shade. Doing this from the center to the edges would be a good idea as it makes certain that extra dust doesn’t get scattered over the whole slat. To clean the area under the slats, open the window blind and then shut it back in opposite way. To make sure that there is no further build up of grime in the slats, change or dust off the glove.
But if you have not cleaned window blinds before, then you may end up scratching or pitting them. Therefore, you can consider acquiring the services of a company which offers professional shade cleaning services. This will not only help to save your time and energy, but also ensure that your blinds get cleaned without suffering from any type of damage.
